Carnoules and the Turtle Village

The Provencal village of Carnoules will charm you with its narrow streets, its boutiques and its authenticity.  

Two activities to do in Carnoules: discover the steam locomotive on display at the entrance to the village and visit the Turtle Village.

Since 2017, the Turtle Village has been established in Carnoules. A reptile protection association has taken up residence in the Turtle Village with the aim of raising public awareness of the biology and protection of reptiles, of studying and protecting wild populations, of welcoming and caring for injured wild turtles. The Carnoules Turtle Village invites you to discover more than 1,500 turtles from all over the world during an intelligent, entertaining and eco-responsible outing.

Thoronet Abbey

The Thoronet Abbey was built between 1160 and 1230, it is one of the three Cistercian abbeys of Provence. This architectural masterpiece was in danger after the Revolution, there was a very important renovation in 1841. During your visit to the “Wonder” of the Cistercian abbeys, you will enjoy discovering the different spaces which kept all their charm and authenticity: the remains of the inn, the cellar, the cloister, the remains of the refectory , the armarium, the parlor, the dormitory, the churchand the monks cemetery

The Chartreuse de la Verne

In the heart of the Massif des Maures and very close to the village of Collobrières, set off to discover the Monastère de la Verne, housed in a green setting. Since January 1921, this exceptional monument has been classified as a “Historic Monument”. During your visit, you will enjoy discovering the small cloister, the large cloister, the chapter house and the bell.

Mediterranean beaches

It will only take you 30 minutes to reach the first beaches of Hyères-les-Palmiers. You will enjoy observing these large expanses of fine sand, practicing water activities, but also relaxing during a lounging and sunbathing session. A little further, in Bormes-les-Mimosas, we advise you to go to one of the most beautiful beaches in the region: the Estagnol beach

Provençal markets

To discover local culinary specialties, to meet regional producers and to taste delicious fruits and vegetables of sunshine in Provence, we will meet you at one of the many markets in the surrounding area. 

On Thursday, go to Pignans, on Friday to Luc en Provence, on Saturday in Puget-ville, and finally on Sunday in Collobrières

The Castellet circuit

A few kilometers from our hotel-restaurant in Carnoules, is the Castellet circuit, the Paul Picard circuit. The year is punctuated by great automotive competitions which will delight enthusiasts. We will meet you at the Castellet circuit to attend the Bol d’Or, the Sunset Bike or the Fun Racing Cars. Great sensations will be on the agenda for your visits to the Castellet circuit.

Gorges du Verdon

A hundred kilometers away, you will be in the heart of the famous Gorges du Verdon or on the banks of the famous Lac de Sainte-Croix . Let yourself be seduced and charmed by this enchanting landscape, which perfectly combines the turquoise blue of its water and the green of its nature. Whether you prefer to indulge in lazing around, swim in refreshing water or explore the Gorges by pedal boat, you will find beaches and nautical centers on the banks of Lake Sainte-Croix.
